Intrepid Ibex is just so much fun and easier than Hardy Heron (for me) as the network manager automatically configure my internet connection. Just make things easier..
When I was using Windows back then, I just hate formatting my computer. It takes my time too much just to set up everything back to normal configuration. With Ubuntu, I can back up my whole computer and setting with just a few clicks and within 30minutes at the most to get my whole system back. Format+install all softwares and restore settings. And my files is exist with no scratch at all. Great !!
I'm using hardy Heron before but after formatted I just need to establised internet connection on my own using wvdial and Intrepid Ibex just take care of it. Usually, first thing I do after a fresh install is updating my entire system.
1 ) System>Administration>Update Manager>Check then Install or
sudo aptitude install update
then I will install APTonCD to get my whole repos back in action.
2 ) System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager. Check APTonCD and apply or
sudo apt-get install aptoncd
3 ) System>Administration>APTonCD
4 ) Click Restore button
